about us…

Born as ‘The Orange Studio’ in 1999 we started with our award-winning Birmingham location and just 5 meeting rooms but it’s safe to say we’ve grown a lot since then. We became thestudio… in 2006 and we are now an independent company, owned and run by the same team since the beginning but now having grown to 46 meeting rooms across 4 locations around the UK.

Though we’ve grown a lot our friendly, people focused ethos and culture very much remains at our heart. It’s important to us that everyone that attends one of locations feels welcome and looked after. We’re not a large corporate chain and we’re really proud of that. We work hard. We be ourselves. We have fun.

We’re passionate about giving our clients the best experience and really care about getting things right. We are looking for an experienced Head Chef for our innovative conference centre in Glasgow City Centre. The successful candidate will be passionate about building a proactive, self motivated team and providing great food and service. You will have first class culinary skills, with high attention to detail and care about presentation and the food and service being delivered. Able to achieve budgetary targets and compliance with all health, safety and food hygiene obligations, including record keeping. Ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and kitchen practice. This role requires experience in menu planning, food costing, stock control and ordering.

Food Safety Level 3 desirable. DBS will be required

Do you have first class culinary skills, with high attention to detail and care about presentation and the food and service being delivered? Then we would love to hear from you. The role will include compliance with all health, safety and food hygiene obligations, including record keeping. Ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and kitchen practice. You will have experience in menu planning, food costing, stock control and ordering. We require a high standard of personal dress and hygiene. Great organisational skill are important as you will be maintaining records and working within the budgets set using nominated suppliers.

Food Safety Level 3 desirable.

Sales and Events Co-ordinator – Manchester/Leeds/Glasgow

Are you looking for the next step in your events career? We are looking for experienced Sales and Events Co-ordinators in our innovative city centre events centres in Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow.

about the job…

For most of our clients the Sales Co-Ordinator is the first person they speak to on their journey with us so it’s important to make the right first impression. We want to deliver our ‘Customer First’ mission statement from the very start. You’ll be working along side our ‘Mission Control’ team primarily looking after your venue but also supporting with our venues across the UK.

Although there are many things you will be involved with on a day to day basis, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Taking sales enquiries via email, web enquiry systems and over the telephone, primarily for our venue in Manchester.
  • Using the event diary to ensure you are maximising revenue opportunities
  • Conducting site visits within the space.
  • Converting enquiries to confirmed bookings
  • Co-ordinating all events, primarily for Manchester including
  • Updating function sheets.
  • Completing final details.
  • Working closely with our operations teams in each location to ensure a smooth delivery of the event on the day.
  • Communicating effectively across all departments to ensure all appropriate team members are aware of all aspects of every event.
  • Working towards achieving the group sales target.
  • Actively involved in evening and weekend work when required, particularly when hosting client FAM days and evenings.
  • Supporting the Commercial Director with proactive business development within the Manchester and surrounding area when required.

  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.

  • You need to be self-motivated from the start and having a customer focus is absolutely essential
  • A ‘can do’ attitude is really important, you must be prepared to go the extra mile for our clients in order to achieve our mission of a ‘Customer First’ experience, every time

  • As this is a sales role, you need to be target driven with a proactive attitude to sales
  • We want to make sure that when our clients arrive on the day they have an experience that’s second to none. This means you need to be great communicator with natural questioning skills and a super listener
  • Attention to detail is vital, so you need to be organised and be able to multi task, keeping a cool head in a busy environment

Event Catering Assistant – Glasgow, Leeds & Birmingham

about the role and you…

We are looking for friendly, self motivated, customer service focused Event Catering Assistants. Your role will be an important part of ensuring we achieve our goal of Customer First and ensuring all our guests have the best customer service experience possible. You will have high standards and excellent attention to detail, making sure everything is the best that it can be, taking pride in the work that you do.

The role is both front and back of house, supporting our clients in ensuring their day runs smoothly and their expectations met and exceeded when possible. You will be working alongside our friendly team, as well as sometimes being expected to work without supervision. You will be self motivated in ensuring tasks are done to the highest standards. The role involves setting up rooms for conference and events, service of food and drinks, supporting in the kitchen, helping our clients with anything they may need and keeping the venue at a high standard of cleanliness. You will be working front of house, on the reception desk when required.
